Aston University looks forward to welcoming you to the
AHUA Annual Conference from April 19th – 21st 2010.
Don’t hit the buffers, stay on track – come to the April AHUA conference.
In a year in which universities will be skidding, crashing or skilfully manoeuvring around a sharp turn in the Government’s approach to the HE sector, we have prepared a conference that will give you the vision to see further ahead and the tools to manage effectively.
This year's conference starts with a presentation from Praesta, who provide executive coaching to hundreds of senior executives in the public and private sector. They have refined their experience into expert advice on "riding the rapids" and "raising your game" simultaneously.
Nicola Dandridge, recently-appointed Chief Executive of Universities UK, will be giving the keynote presentation, an opportunity to discuss with her the leadership and unity of UK universities at a time of stress.
A team of people at the leading edge of policy development across the political spectrum will be giving presentations on and discussing their visions for Higher Education. These are the people responsible for writing the policies and speeches for the senior politicians who in April will be competing for your vote and soon implementing major changes consequent on public sector savings; including Anna Fazackerley www.policyexchange.org.uk , Will Hutton http://www.theworkfoundation.com, Baroness Estelle Morris www.guardian.co.uk/profile/estellemorris and Phillip Blond http://www.respublica.org.uk/
A core part of the Conference, this session which is presented by Tess Brooks and Rachel Holmes, draws on extensive conversations with Registrars and their staff to create an interactive and stimulating session exploring the key people management challenges facing the Registrar community
Our sponsors from professional services companies will also be providing information and advice, and drinks.
And of course there’s good food, the company of witty and urbane AHUA members, and an after-dinner speech from Karren Brady www.karrenbrady.com. Karren is to replace Margaret Mountford as Sir Alan’s right-hand woman in the forthcoming Series 6 of The Apprentice and was BusinessWoman of the year 2007 and Cosmopolitan Woman of the Year 2006.
Further information including registration detailsfor the conference, will follow in January 2010.
