Student Clubs, tours & competitions

Aston University has over 35 sports clubs run by students. Aston students can join a sports club at any time and get involved. They are a great way to meet new people and make friends.

If you already do a sport and would like to carry it on while you are at Aston University or if you would like to try something new. No matter what your reason the sports clubs aim to cater for all ability levels from the beginner to the elite and everything in between.

Many of the clubs compete in the British University & College Sports (BUCS) Leagues, but also organise lots of events and friendly games for the less competitive members!

Over weekends and during holidays, clubs are involved in many exciting and sometimes exotic trips. In the past few years The Cobras (Men’s rugby) have toured Florida and the Cayman Islands, The Unicorns (hockey) have competed in Barbados, The Stags (football) in Tenerife, Hungary and Spain and The Vipers (Women’s rugby) in France and Eire. Overseas trips are common for other clubs too, such as the Skiing and Snowboarding, and the Sub Aqua clubs.

There are a huge variety of clubs at Aston, some of which are listed below. If you get to Aston and find there's no club for your favourite sport, you can set a new one up!
