A level grades and equivalents for the Aston Excellence Scholarship

UK and EU undergraduate students starting degree courses in 2012/13 holding at least one of the following qualification/grade combinations will be eligible to be considered for an Aston Excellence Scholarship.

These equivalences are in part dictated in by Government guidelines on allocating funded places for undergraduate students at UK universities in 2012/13.  Aston University is not able to consider other alternative qualifications or perceived grades for consideration for an Aston Excellence Scholarship. 

Students who enrol at Aston in 2012 who do not achieve these grades below may still be eligible for our income based Aston scholarships (subject to household income assessment by Student Finance England), heavily subsidised placement year fee (£1,000 with further fee discounts for many students) and free additional modern languages tuition.

Not all degree programmes at Aston require AAB+ at A level but if you exceed the conditional offer (for example achieve AAB when the conditional offer is BBB) you would still qualify for the Aston Excellence Scholarship on enrolment at Aston University.

A Double Award A-level counts as two single awards at the grade awarded.

BTEC

A BTEC National with a grade of:

CACHE Level 3 diploma in Child Care and Education

Grade A

International Baccalaureate

International Baccalaureate with 35 points or more.

Irish Leaving Certificates

Best four Irish Leaving Certificates, grades are either:
-    A1, A1, A1, A1
-    A1, A1, A1, B1
-    A1, A1, A1, A2

NPTC Level 3 Land Based Extended Diploma

Distinction 

OCR National Extended Diploma

Grade D1

Progression Diploma.
