Founded over a hundred years ago, Aston is an established, "old" university known for world class teaching quality and research. We have a Graduate Employment record that is consistently amongst the best in the UK, with strong links with industry, government and commerce.
All of the University's academic, social and accommodation facilities are based on our attractive, self contained green Campus, right in the centre of Birmingham, one of Europe’s liveliest and welcoming cities. We are a relatively small university, (approximately 9000 students in total) and we are proud of our close-knit, safe and friendly campus atmosphere which provides the perfect environment for academic success and a fantastic social life
Aston University offers over 300 courses at Undergraduate (first degree) and Postgraduate level (Masters and PhD Research programmes)
More than 70% of our students choose sandwich or year abroad programmes, allowing them to gain paid professional work experience as part of their degree. Our close links with industry are just one of the reasons why we enjoy one of the highest graduate employment records in the UK.
League Table Rankings
University league tables are not the only way to choose a university and are subject to fluctuations from year to year due to the closeness of scores of Universities placed in the top 30. However, league tables do give an indication of quality and reputation, both overall and in specific subject areas.
Aston University is distinctive in that we have strong league table positions across a range of different criteria. In addition to this, our degrees are distinctive from many other Universities in that they offer relevant, and usually paid sandwich placement year/year abroad opportunities and strong links with industry, business and the professions.
