There are excellent sports and recreation facilities at Aston University, with two sports centres, (Woodcock and Gem) on campus. We have a 120 station gymnasium, dance studios, squash courts, outdoor grass and all weather sports pitches. There are a variety of sport and fitness activities on offer.
A multi-million pound refurbishment of The Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre on campus completed in 2011. The refurbishment transformed the historic centre into a modern, vibrant sports facility that retains and celebrates its unique original features such as our beautiful Grade II listed swimming pool. Phase 2 (a new sports hall and squash courts on the Woodcock site) opens in 2013 to replace the existing 1970s Gem Sports Hall on campus.
Off campus Aston University owns a 45 acre Recreation Centre with pitches, pavillion floodlighting and parking.
