Fariba Khorrami Dastjerdi, from Iran. Fariba studied the IFP before her degree in Pharmacy (MPharm), at the Aston School of Life and Health Sciences.

“The IFP was really helpful for me as it was a chance to improve my English and get used to the British university environment. It gave me the confidence to go onto my first year at Aston. There are students from many academic disciplines, everyone was friendly and we helped each other. I am very happy with the multicultural environment here, you go around the campus and you can see faces from all over the world. I am part of the mature students’ society which organises trips and there is a common room to work with students from the year above. At Aston they challenge your abilities. Before I wasn’t sure if I could succeed, now I am much more confident. If you want something you can do it.”

Hussain Al-Ghaith, Aramco Scholar, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Hussain studied the IFP before his BSc Accounting for Management, at Aston Business School.

“I was pleased that the IFP met my expectations. The programme gave a clear indication about what we would study in the first year of a degree and we had the opportunity to learn subjects which were not familiar to us. I also enjoyed the activities provided, especially the end of the year excursion to Alton Towers! The overall experience of studying the IFP was awesome and gave us the opportunity to explore the city of Birmingham and to prepare for our future studies at Aston Business School.”
