Communication difficulty (speech, language or social)

Your School of Study can arrange:

• To give you outline lecture notes or presentation materials in advance

• Extra exam time in examinations or other assessment arrangements (this will be agreed in consultation with Disability & Additional Needs Unit)

• Additional support from your Personal Tutor

The Disability & Additional Needs Unit (DANU) can provide:

• Advice and support in your application for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or other funds

• Advice on computer software available, and provision of quotes for your DSA application

• Advice on equipment available, and assistance with purchase

• Liaison with your department to arrange any extra support needed

• Study support workers e.g. note-takers, readers or other study support

• A mentor

• Liaison with external services on your behalf (such as Social Services)

• An orientation of the campus when you arrive
