Allocation policy

As a first year student you are guaranteed a place in Aston's on campus accommodation providing you:

  • hold Aston as your ‘firm choice’ (CF/UF) University

  • have returned your accommodation application form and UCAS acceptance form (AS12) to the University by a certain date in July and August each year (details on the accommodation website).

We also endeavour to accommodate students who:

  • hold Aston as their ‘insurance choice’ (CI/UI) University

  • are applying through Clearing.

International students

If you are an international fee-paying student you are currently guaranteed accommodation for the full duration of yourcourse, providing that you apply by the deadline each academic year.

Non-first year students

Priority for non-first-year students is given to those in their final year returning from a sandwich or language placement abroad/outside Birmingham.

Local students

If you live locally (ie: in or around Birmingham and the West Midlands) you are currently guaranteed first-year accommodation, should you wish to take it.
