Chloe - Final year BSc Psychology

The main reason I decided to study at Aston was because of the placement year the course offered.

I studied Psychology and realised picking the four year sandwich course was a valuable decision as it would help me stand out from all those other students who had just graduated with a normal psychology degree.

I worked for a children’s mental health organisation, which was near to my home so I commuted in each day. I would recommend a placement year, as it was relevant to my final year and the career I want to pursue in the future.

Throughout my course the teaching has been excellent. The lecturers are friendly and really try to build a relationship with each student, so the student can feel comfortable in seeking advice and help if needed.

Aston is like a small community, which I now call ‘home’.  It is in the middle of Birmingham’s city centre, making everything you could possibly need in walking distance.  Being a small university, I feel like it was easier to make friends and you get the sense of belonging to a big family. The social life is fantastic; if you want anything from a nice meal out to a happening bar you will be able to find it at any time of the day.

Not only will I achieve a degree from studying at Aston, but I have met some brilliant people, from all over the world, which I share great memories with and who I will stay in touch with for the rest of my life!
