Reflective practice is the process of reflecting on past professional
experiences in order to identify areas of strength and opportunities for
development. The ability to effectively evaluate your own professional
skills and
behaviour is a key skill.
The module addresses the importance managing your professional development. It provides a forum to discuss your experiences of a range of
employment-related areas, such as equalities, communication, teamwork, sustainability and reflective practice.
You'll participate in a
range of activities, such as mentoring, volunteering and paid work,
to develop the personal and professional skills important for both
employment
and successful study. You may base your work around one activity
or several, depending on the learning opportunities presented.
The module also includes classroom-based training sessions,
supplemented and amplified by online
teaching material, information and examples.
Throughout the module you'll keep a multimedia
ePortfolio of your activity and progress. Your Supervisor will monitor
this and provide feedback and suggestions for further development.
Online support from your peers and Supervisor
are an important part of this module. There will be a
range of group activities to address specific skills issues and to engage in reflective practice.
Fees are based on current Government financial
arrangements with Universities. If you already
have qualifications up to and including QAA Level 5, the module fee will be
£270.
If you already have qualifications at QAA Level 6 or above, please contact us for fee information.
