Student Life at Aston

With around 7,000 students, Aston is a lively, diverse, close-knit community. It’s difficult to walk across campus without bumping into someone you know! You’ll find all you need at Aston – great academic, support and social facilities, and plentiful accommodation.

At Aston we are a truly international community. We have over 700 international students enrolled on postgraduate programmes from 100 countries around the world, and  30% of our academic staff members come from outside the UK. This all helps to create a dynamic academic and social environment!

Aston University Campus

Aston University’s campus offers you a dynamic and inspirational environment in which to study. Compact and self-contained, you'll have everything you need at your fingertips in a green, but central location. At five minutes’ walk from Birmingham's theatres, bars and attractions, you'll never be short of things to do once you've earned that all important down-time.

Aston's library is open 7 days a week, with 24 hour access during exam periods. In addition, Aston has brilliant support staff based on campus to help you with a range of issues, including finance and personal well-being.

Personal Development

Aston provides opportunities for personal development, helping you to explore new things and do something constructive outside of your studies. The University is home to a range of societies and activities, including sport, volunteering and the chance to get involved in school outreach programmes. Volunteering is a great way to get to know your local community and feel more at home when studying. We want you to get the best from your time with us, so our activities and programmes ensure that you develop transferable skills while enjoying yourself!
