Aston is a research-led university, with research infusing and informing teaching.

The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) found that 86% of Aston's research is internationally recognised. Under the former RAE assessment criteria, this equates to all Schools achieving high scores of grade 5* or 5.

We focus on research that will make a substantial and beneficial difference to individuals, organisations and society in general. Our research concentrates on:
