Research Degree Programmes are available in the area of Pedagogical Research through the Centre for Learning Innovation and Professional Practice (CLIPP).
The programme structure is such that research students are able to embark on a structured course of study in the first year (full time) that will provide a solid foundation in the research methods employed in pedagogical research. Following this first year and a successful qualifying report, students are then able to embark on a further study leading to the award of an MPhil or PhD. Students not wishing to proceed to an MPhil or PhD can undertake a research project that will lead to an MRes in Pedagogical Research.
The structure for a full time student would be as follows:
Year 1:
|
|
| Introduction to Pedagogical Research |
(40 credits) |
Advanced Pedagogical Research
|
(40 credits) |
| Academic Writing and Critical Reading in Pedagogic Research |
(40 credits) |
| Qualifying Report/ Research Project |
(60 credits) |
| |
|
If the Research Project is performed successful, the award of an MRes will be made.
The Qualifying Report will allow students to proceed to an MPhil or PhD in Years 2 and 3.
Programmes are offered as a part time course of study as well as full time. CLIPP welcomes interest in any area of Higher Education Learning and Teaching, particularly if it is related to the identified research themes.
