Masters (by research) in Lifelong Learning and Education for Sustainability (EfS)

LLL
If you would like to explore the relationship between lifelong learning and sustainability you can do so through the Lifelong Learning Centre at Aston University. A Masters by research could encompass such topic areas as adult informal learning, new media, cultural heritage, the theory and philosophy of EfS, community based learning and/or sustainability literacy.

You will receive personal academic supervision together with advice and guidance on appropriate research methods, time management and the planning and execution of your study. Aston University has extensive resources, networks and an impressive range of e-journals and e-books. Research tutorials may be undertaken on a face to face basis or online.

The Masters by research is specifically for those who wish to investigate a particular area of interest related to either personal or professional interests but who do not necessarily wish to study on a taught programme or undertake more extensive research work required for an MPhil or PhD. However, opportunities for progression, or conversion, are also available.

There is no taught component to this Masters but, depending on your previous experience and needs, you may wish to undertake some research training in a specialised field or methodology run by the university’s Staff Development Unit.

The Masters by research dissertation is in the region of 30,000 words.
