Sources of funding

Once you have been accepted for a research programme at a British university, you may be eligible for an Overseas Research Students Award. Some departments at Aston also offer bursaries for international research students. These are allocated on a very competitive basis and further details can be obtained from the academic department which has offered you a place.

You are encouraged to contact your local Ministry of Education, or local British Council office as you may be eligible to apply for scholarships and awards such as the British Chevening scholarships.

Aston's Financial Assistance Unit (FAU) can help you identify sources of funds available to assist EU and international students who experience unexpected hardship resulting from a change in circumstances, such as the loss of your sponsor. Restrictions apply so not all students are may be eligible for funds.
