Hearing Impairment

Your School of Study can arrange:

• To give you outline lecture notes or presentation materials in advance

• Extra exam time in examinations or other assessment arrangements (this will be agreed in consultation with Disability & Additional Needs Unit)

• Additional support from your Personal Tutor

The Disability & Additional Needs Unit can provide:

• Advice and support in your application for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or other funding

• Advice on equipment available, and assistance with purchase

• Liaison with your department to arrange any extra support need

• Liaison with the student accommodation team regarding Deaf Alerter systems, etc

• Study support workers e.g. note-takers, readers or other study support

• Sessions with a visiting teacher for language support

• British Sign Language interpreters, lip speakers and communication support workers
