If you apply to us/have already applied to us on your UCAS form and if we make you an offer of a place to study with us (an "Unconditional Offer" or a "Conditional Offer"), you will be invited by the University to one of a selection of "UCAS applicant open days/visit days".
These are organised by our individual academic departments/Schools of study and include campus, accommodation tours and more detailed information about the degree programme(s) you have applied for. There's also lots of opportunity to ask questions and meet staff and students and often practical activities and/or lab/department tours.
These Open Days usually take place between December 2011 and March 2012 depending on when you complete your form and are on a smaller scale than our major open days.
Each year around 6,000 of our applicants and their parents attend these events and a visit is highly recommended to help you make the right choice and get all the information you need. If you have applied to us and haven't yet visited our friendly, green and safe campus in the centre of Birmingham we strongly recommend that you do so.
If we make you an offer of a place, you should receive your invite up to 4 weeks after receiving your offer via UCAS. There is also usually at least one opportunity to visit on a Saturday or during February Half Term week. Parents etc are welcome - booking is essential so we are able to predict visitor numbers for tour guides, refreshments and room sizes. Booking is either via an online booking form or by paper form - send to you personally by the Admissions Office for the course you have applied to.

If you would like further information about visiting the University after you have applied, then please contact the relevant admissions offce for the degree programme you have applied to (see below) or Schools and Colleges Liaison who can pass a message on. Please ensure that you include your UCAS applicant number in any correspondence.
