Student Visitor Visas

If you are coming to study at Aston University for 6 months or less, you have the option of applying for a student visitor visa. You do not need to apply for a Tier 4 General visa under the points based immigration system. You may find the following useful:

  • Quick Guide which explains the options for student visas and when a student visitor visa would be appropriate
  • Application form for student visitors (form VAF1D) and how to apply [Please check if you need to make a paper or online application – instructions will be on your letter from Aston University]
  • UKBA website regarding Student Visitors, eligibility, etc
  • Documents required can be found on page 5 of the pdf Guide to Supporting Documents.

Once you have paid your full fees and have received confirmation of your booking the International Office at Aston University will supply you with a letter confirming your course details and other information. You will need to submit this letter with your application. It should also include information to help you complete the questions on the VAF1D which involve your course at the University.
