Employable Graduates

We have strong relationships with national and international graduate employers as well as smaller and local employers. These relationships are extremely important and make a real contribution to our great graduate employability record.

We facilitate recruitment by:

  • arranging opportunities for employers to meet our students, such as presentations, drop-ins and recruitment fairs - over 200 graduate employers come onto campus each year to meet our students.

  • advertising employers' graduate and placement jobs to students

  • marketing Aston University, its courses, placement year opportunities and students to potential graduate employers

  • providing advice, information, help and university contacts to graduate employers planning their recruitment activity

  • encouraging graduate recruiters to input into the planning of our courses, services and facilities

What do graduate employers think of us...?

Christine Cartwright, Graduate Recruitment Officer, Accenture

“A number of graduates from Aston University have joined Accenture to begin their career in consulting… many have joined after graduating, and some have completed a 12 month industrial placement which has led to a permanent offer of employment.

The continuous success of students is due to excellent academic records, combined with good teamwork and communication skills which have been developed through their studies. If you want a challenging career that will enable you to fulfill your potential while keeping your options open, Accenture can offer you innovative and flexible career opportunities.”

Clare Timothy, Business Development Manager, Unilever

“The bottom line is that Aston seems to produce graduates more likely to demonstrate the required competencies that we demand – true all-rounders. Unilever is one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies – in both foods and home and personal care markets across the globe.

Our brands, including Dove, Magnum, Hellmann’s, Persil and Lynx, are used by over half the families in the world every day. The Unilever Companies’ Management Development Scheme (UCMDS) offers a challenging, complex and sophisticated working environment to anyone seeking a meaningful career in business.”

Gillian Matson, Graduate Recruitment Officer PricewaterhouseCoopers

“PricewaterhouseCoopers is the world’s leading professional services firm. For an insight into the world of business and professional services, it is hard to beat. PricewaterhouseCoopers have been actively recruiting Aston students for business placements and graduate schemes over a number of years and continue to be delighted by the calibre of the students from Aston.”
