Developing your entrepreneurship skills is important if, like many of our graduates, you want to start your own business after university. Employers also look for people who have well-rounded entrepreneurial skills - graduates who not only have great ideas, but can also make things happen.
In the 2011 Midlands Business Awards, Aston was recognised for promoting entrepreneurship and for overall outstanding performance. The awards, now in their fifth year, recognise and reward organisations in the region which are adding value to the economy.
Aston Entrepreneurs Society
Aston Apprentice
Inspired by the BBC TV show, teams of students compete in a buying, a marketing and a sales task. In 2011 the final task saw teams designing a taste, type and brand of beer. The winning team's beer was made by a local company and stocked in the Students' Guild bar.
