Student Welfare and Wellbeing

No Worries! Students at Aston generally settle in very quickly and get involved with various social activities and societies. We are here to help you adjust to University life as soon as possible, safe in the knowledge that your every need can be looked after.

Our University is all about the ‘student experience’ - access to advice, support and welfare can be invaluable and part of that ‘experience; and just knowing that discreet, professional help is at hand if needed is reassuring to know. We have specialist teams available whatever the issue - big or small.

The Residential Services team are here for YOU! and are committed to making your living experience in University accommodation the best it can be! If you need assistance there is always a friendly face and staff who are willing to listen! 

A Residence Officer is based at each of the Residences and is available Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm to deal with accommodation, maintenance, general matters relating to residences, offer advice and support, whatever the issue, and signpost to other support services available at Aston.

The Accommodation Office, based on the ground floor of Stafford Tower, opening hours Monday to Friday between 8.45am and 4.00pm, where staff are also available to support you with accommodation related issues particularly, but not exclusively room allocation and accommodation finance issues.   

Lakeside Reception is open Monday to Friday 07.00 – 22.00 and weekends Saturday 08.00 – 22.00 Sunday 08.00 – 18.00 to assist with all your queries.

Parcels can also be collected from Lakeside Reception Monday – Saturday 10.00 – 20.00 and Sunday 10.00 – 17.00

The Residence Tutors and Postgraduate Rota team are available out of hours including weekends to provide a system of pastoral care and welfare support for students residing on campus and can be contacted via Security

The Residential Services Team and residents on campus are fully supported by the University Security Department, whose office is located at the Main Building and is staffed 24 hours a day.
