Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers

The Concordat details a set of principles to support the career development of researchers.  The Concordat is an agreement between various research funders and employers of researchers, and Aston is committed to the Concordat's implementation. The development of researchers is also incorporated into the Human Resources Strategy - Aston People 2012

We believe that implementing the Principles of the Concordat will contribute to sustaining the high quality research environment we already have at Aston. An audit of our position in relation to the Principles of the Concordat was completed in March 2009 and this showed that we are doing well in some areas, including some where we are ahead of the sector.  An Action Plan to address those areas where we think we can improve was produced in 2009, and its implementation is monitored by the University’s Research Committee. One year on, a new Revised Action Plan for Change shows that progress has been made.
