Aston University Women have won the silver medal in the BUCS Regional Cup. The final was played at Woodcock Sports Centre last Wednesday against Cranfield University.
In a thrilling final Aston University made a great comeback in the first game to win 25 23. In the second game Aston took an early lead and looked odds on to win but Cranfield managed to re-group and come back to win 25 20. In two more tense and evenly matched games Cranfield just had the momentum and upper hand and came out eventual winners by 3 games to 1.
The Aston team played exceptionally well and there were some fantastic rallies that had spectators sitting on the edge of their seat! The girls did themselves and the University proud and should take immense pride in winning the silver medal.
Well done to the Women’s Volleyball team!
