Coffee company good to go!

Nicolas Holzherr and Simon McCann

Two entrepreneurial Aston University students are set to make their mark in the coffee industry with their innovative business, Co-Go Coffee.

Final year Business students Nicolas Holzherr and Simon McCann are planning to launch the stylish coffee-cup shaped outlets across Birmingham city centre. They will provide high quality, express coffeeat competitive prices in convenient locations to ensure accessibility for commuters and shoppers.

A priority for the business is to establish Co-Go as a social enterprise by using fair trade ingredients, recycled materials and green energy wherever possible.

By using its disposable coffee cups as advertising space for organisations, they will reinvest business profits back in to the community to run educational programmes that support sustainable projects. This will include encouraging more people to become involved in business entrepreneurship within the West Midlands and will encourage more entrepreneurship talent for the West Midlands.

During the economic downturn the launch of Co-Go will help create 50 jobs in the Midlands, with the need for staff to help run the ten outlets and future plans for a nationwide expansion.

The business minded duo, hoping to have their business license approved this year said ‘It was always our priority to launch the business in Birmingham as it is such a vibrant and diverse city. We are very enthusiastic about working in the city we have lived and studied in for the last four years. We want to encourage graduate retention in Birmingham by showing the support and potential the city can offer to graduates who want to start up a business.’

Having already won two business plan competitions, including the Frankfurt Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow, business experts from Advantage West Midlands have high hopes for the organisation.
