Once a year, Aston Business School sends a new student member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honour society to a Student Leadership Forum in the USA. This experience brings together Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) students from across the world for a chance to improve their leadership skills. Students take part in many activities such as team-building, networking and creative thinking sessions.
This year, Hannah Thackrah was chosen to go to the BGS Forum in Tampa, Florida which was held 4 – 7 February. Speaking about her experience, she said: ‘The BGS Leadership Forum was one of the best experiences of my life and one that I will never forget. It was brilliant to meet so many interesting people and connect on both a professional and personal level and realise that we all shared the same concerns about what the future brings. The speakers, group sessions and activities really allowed me to examine the kind of person I am, what skills, strengths and weaknesses I have and the kind of business leader I want to be. It was an inspirational experience that I felt privileged to be part of and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to attend.’
