On Thursday 23rd April the University basketball team beat the Kidderminster based team, Churchbridge, to claim the West Midland's Division One title by 2 points and win promotion to the Premier division for next season.
Club Chairman, Andy Reid, said: 'The team were ecstatic with that result and to make things better we got to the semi-final of the local men’s cup competition this season, beating last year’s league champions on route.
'With a combination of a fantastic coach and a dedicated group of players the team have done fantastically well and have learnt about team work, commitment and discipline during the course of the year. The players have worked extremely hard to support the club in four competitions and have been a credit to the University.'
