On the 13th June Festival lovers from across the University saw the return of the second successful Astonbury.
Organised by the student guild, 2,500 students and staff from Aston donned their sun cream and festival gear – minus the wellies – to enjoy live performances in the sun from chart topping artist and bands, including acts from students here at the University.
The day kicked off with fair ground stalls, thrill rides and a Dome dance room to keep festival goers entertained until performances from The Futureheads, Chipmunk, Taio Cruz and Guru Josh Project catered for the multi cultural society at Aston, into the late evening.
A spectacular fireworks display and music from Radio1 Nick Grimshaw kept the crowd dancing into the night with a BBQ and bar at hand to restock energy levels!
The future heads, who have performed at several festivals including Glastonbury, said; ‘we’re amazed how students have managed to put on such a successful and well organised event. Its one of the nicest venues we have played at, the lake adds a really touch!’
Astonbury organisers would like to thanks Pgcareers for sponsoring the event and of course everyone who attended.
