Dr Ming Lim from the School of Engineering & Applied Science was the only academic speaker and a panel member at the annual RFID World Asia 2009 summit held in Singapore this April.
Following a successful public seminar held last year at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology’s National RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Centre, based at Nanyang Technological University, Dr Ming Lim was asked to speak at this prestigious event. Other participating organisations included Microsoft, HP, NXP, and GS1 Singapore.
Leading the Aston’s RFID Research Team, Dr Lim presented his team’s research contribution to the RFID business world, by showcasing high return on investment and long term business benefits for RFID implementers as well as for their customers, especially during the economic climate. His speech received an overwhelming response from the summit participants from around the world.
As a result collaboration talsk are already well under way with companies interested in Aston’s RFID research from Australia, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Saudi Arabia. This event has most certainly put Aston’s RFID research at the forefront of RFID innovations.
