‘Active Aston’ – Lunchtime Canal Walk
On Tuesday last week, a group of 20 staff took an hour at lunchtime to go on a walk along the local canal. This was the first of a number of walks planned by the newly formed Wellbeing group to encourage staff out of the office, get some fresh air and exercise and find out a bit more about the local area.
The walk was led by Anne Perkins from the Library who shared her knowledge of the history of the canal and the local area. It was a beautiful day and all of the staff who went really enjoyed it.
It was a great opportunity to explore and get a completely different perspective of the local area. Most of us would not do this on our own and it was good to talk to people that we don’t work with regularly. I can’t remember when I enjoyed a lunch break so much....

Future walks are planned for Wednesday 26 May and Wednesday 16 June at 12:30pm. There's no need to book - just meet outside Woodcock Sports Centre. The walks last no longer than an hour.
