Sport Aston has just finalised the New Year Yoga programme.
Yoga is a fantastic practice that can bring many benefits. As yoga couples muscular activity with an internally directed focus (i.e. awareness of breathing), it brings the stress relief that extends into both physical and psychological sphere, relaxing the body and removing muscular tensions, as well as relaxing the mind and removing mental and emotional tensions. The practice of yoga has been successfully used in removing tensions and restoring the feelings of mental relaxation and emotional well-being, which then result in better resting blood pressure, more relaxed muscles and a healthier immune system.
The New Year is a fantastic time to try something new or to renew an old interest and we have five different practices for you to choose from: Hatha Yoga, Dynamic Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Pilates and Yogalates.
Each yoga course is nine weeks long and the cost for Aston University staff is just £25.50 per course.
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. To book just pop along to Woodcock reception with payment (make sure you have your staff identity card with you to guarantee the staff price).
