After talking with some work colleagues who are thinking about studying for a PhD, it was evident that it would be useful to set up an informal, lunch time discussion group. The idea is that anyone thinking about or doing a research based qualification might benefit from chatting with colleagues who are in a similar position. This would be a group where people would be able to talk about such issues such as why they wanted to engage in further study and how they went about refining such things as their research question. Since there would be no fixed agenda, any topic can be discussed in a friendly, non-judgemental setting.
