Aston recently welcomed a delegation from Kanagawa University in Japan.
Kanagawa University is one of Aston’s oldest and most established partnerships (the University has now been sending students to Aston for over 15 years, with most students taking the Junior Year Abroad programme) and the visit was organised to celebrate this long-standing relationship by enabling Kanagawa University to find out more about programmes and developments at Aston.
The delegation included the President of Kanagawa University, Professor Michio Nakajima, plus several members of his senior management team. They were welcomed by Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof Helen Higson, Director of International Partnerships, Stewart Comfort, and Senior International Officer, David Tobin.
The Kanagawa visitors were given a talk about Aston University and also a talk about the UK's Higher Education. At the end of the visit, President Nakajima expressed his hope that the partnership might now expand and grow and was delighted at the reception that he and his team had received.
