Just before Christmas the Fairtrade Steering Group hosted a wine tasting event for staff in Astons café bar. Around 40 members of staff attended the evening and enjoyed tasting 6 different Fairtrade wines.
There was a fun competition throughout the evening, with prizes awarded for correctly matching wines to their descriptions. This proved a bit more challenging than some of the guests anticipated!
Continuing the ethical theme Fairtrade mince pies were also on offer and Astons was decorated with Fairtrade Christmas decorations.
All of the wines tasted were from major supermarkets so it is easy to switch to Fairtrade. Hopefully some of those that enjoyed the evening will be throwing a bottle of Fairtrade wine in their trolley next time they do their food shopping!
