Intercultural Competence: Innovative practices to maximise student learning

‘By nature all men are alike, but by education widely different.’(Chinese Proverb)

Intercultural Competence: Innovative practices to maximise student learning

Tuesday 13th October 2009

UK universities are now very diverse international/multicultural institutions. In order to ensure that all students can study effectively, whatever their background, new, more flexible approaches to learning need to be developed. Some of these will challenge traditional teaching methods.

This lecture will show-case some of the research-informed approaches to intercultural learning which have been developed at Aston, and will discuss how they have evolved.

Be prepared to experience something new.

This lecture is free to attend and open to all.

When: Tuesday 13th October at 6.30pm (tea and coffee from 5.30pm)
Where: Sumpner Lecture Theatre (Formerly the Warwick Lecture Theatre)
A buffet will follow the lecture.

Please email events@aston.ac.uk to book a seat. For further information about this event please contact Emily Watts.
