Quiet prayer and meditation
Drawing on different Christian Traditions, the Chaplaincy will be exploring different methods of prayer and meditation that have enriched spiritual life of people through the ages.


While these sessions build on each other they also work as a completely stand alone sessions. All staff and students are welcome just to drop in without prior booking.

The free sessions all start at 1pm and last for 30 minutes.

8th July: Lectio Divina
This is an ancient form of meditation based on the reflection of a scriptural passage repeated, meditated on and repeated.

22nd July: Guided Meditation
This session focuses on relaxing and leading you metaphorically through a forest to discover a little bit about yourself.

29th July: Walking 
Join us for a city centre walking meditation looking at the cityscape of Birmingham in new ways.

5th August: Art
Spend some time creating a piece of art that explores your soul.

12th August: Examen
Using the Jesuit technique of self reflection come and explores your week in a comfortable and non-judgemental way.

26th August: Labyrinth
Following in the great medieval spiritual practice, the chaplaincy will be turned into a labyrinth for the whole afternoon for staff to enjoy.
