The recently formed Aston Triangle Cinema Club is holding its first film screening on Tuesday 19 January and it's totally free if you want to go along!
At 7:30pm His Girl Friday (directed by Howard Hawks) will be shown and all staff and students are very welcome to attend.
The film stars Cary Grant as Walter Burns and Rosalind Russell as Hildy Johnson and features Ralph Bellamy as Bruce Baldwin.
This first screening will be preceded by a lecture by Dr Diane Purkiss of Keeble College, Oxford entitled Confessions of a bored 21st Century woman; what’s happened to women in cinema? at 6pm in the Sumpner Lecture Theatre. His Girl Friday is of direct relevance to the lecture.
If you wish to attend the lecture and/or the film, please reserve a place.
Please note the screening of the film will take place (after the lecture) in room MB549 and there will be a short welcome by Prof Helen Higson before the film screening.
Aston Triangle Cinema Club will screen a variety of world cinema and art house films throughout the year on campus. Future screenings will take place at 6pm. Details to be published via Aspects.
For issues regarding car parking or any other arrangements, please contact Attique Rehman.
This screening is open to all staff and students.
