Soft Power, Hard Choices: Where Next for the EU's Neighbourhood Policy? event

Thursday 3 December 2009 at 9.30 am
Conference Centre, Aston Business School

The Aston Centre for Europe is co-hosting a conference on the future of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), in collaboration with DG RELEX in the European Commission, Media Consulta and the Jean Monnet Wider Europe network.

With elections looming in Ukraine, the launch of the Eastern Partnership and the institutional wrangling over the Lisbon treaty drawing to a final close, the year 2010 promises to be an interesting one for the development of EU policy in this area.

Speakers:

  • John O'Rourke, Head of the ENP Unit at the European Commission

  • Professor Julian Cooper, University of Birmingham's Centre for Russian and East European Studies

  • Viorel Ursu, Open Society Institute in Brussels.

The event is open to all and is free of charge. The event includes lunch and presents an unusual opportunity for students, scholars and the public to engage in a discussion with senior Commission officials as well as academics with expertise in this policy area.

Register for this event: ENP@media-consulta.com
