E-operations: Roles and Challenges for Operations Management seminar

Overview

The use of information systems in operations management has long been commonplace and the advent of the Internet and its associated technologies has further reinforced their importance. However, the application of such information systems has begun to challenge traditional business paradigms and encourage operations strategists and managers to look towards their partners, suppliers and  customers to collectively gain further competitive advantage.

This seminar will specifically focus upon emerging technologies, their implementation and change management risks.

We will discuss:

• The drivers encouraging e-operations?
• The challenges of becoming an e-operator?
• Case studies about e-operational issues?

This event is sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Aston Business School. There will be presentations from senior international academics and renowned industry experts; there will also be time to network with other professionals to be able to share experiences about the topic.
