Call for European funded Eco-Innovation proposals now open

The annual call for European funded Eco-Innovation proposals is now open, and the deadline for applications is 10th September 2009.

The Eco-Innovation call covers European projects under the following themes:

1. Recycling Materials (recycling and re-use processes, methods, technologies and approaches, business innovations relating to recycling and re-use)

2. Building and construction sector (innovative building products, reusing and recycling of construction and demolition wastes, innovative water systems)

3. Food and drink (cleaner products, processes, packaging materials, labelling, distribution, full raw material utilisation, efficiency in water consumption)

4. Green products, processes and businesses (greening of production, decreasing environmental impacts, implementation of environmental criteria).

Eco-Innovation is a strand which comes under the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP). CIP provides financing to promote and enhance competitiveness and innovation in the EU. The Eco-Innovation strand prioritises funding for SMEs, but can also fund public institutions and third sector organisations. Typical projects are worth €750K and last up to 36 months.

A free information day for any organisation interested in Strategic Environmental Projects that can be funded by the Eco-Innovation programme is being held on Tuesday 9th June in Worcester (download registration form). This event will enable you to turn your ideas into European projects.
