An Aston Staff Volunteering Scheme will take place on 4 and 5 November at The Base (in Ward End Park). This is a specialist centre for teenagers with behavioural difficulties, and we will be creating a recreational area involving the clearing of the site, planting of trees and shrubs, and building and placing some benches. This will be quite physically demanding work; all equipment will be provided, and health and safety issues will be addressed and managed.
We need 18 volunteers for each of the two days, with the times likely to be 9 - 3:30pm. We anticipate that most volunteers would do one day. Transport to the site will be provided.
Staff registered with the scheme are eligible for a basic allocation of two working days paid time off each year to undertake voluntary work approved under the scheme (subject to the agreement of the line manager).
