Discover the incredible sensation of skydiving: leaving the aircraft at 13,000 ft and freefalling for nearly a minute, harnessed to the ‘tandem master’ who will open the parachute and fly you both back to the airfield. And all in the name of raising money for charity!
If you’ve been wanting to find out what freefall is all about but you don't know anything about the sport, don't worry, that's what "tandem jumps" are all about. It’s the fastest and easiest way to make a jump and anybody can do this kind of jump, at any age, because the responsibility of the jump does not depend on you.
Help for Heroes raises money to help support wounded servicemen and women injured in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The charity also raises support and awareness for all three services of the British Armed Forces and this tandem skydive will help raise much-needed funds for them.
To take part you will need to raise a minimum of £400. A proportion of this goes to paying for the jump and the rest goes to Help for Heroes. You’ll also have an opportunity to buy a DVD of the jump to remember your experience! Over 40s will need a doctor’s medical form (provided on request). Participants must be 15 stone or under - you will be weighed on the day!
The proposed tandem skydive(s) will be at Skydive Weston near Bicester, Oxfordshire and is currently planned for the September 12th although this may need to change due to weather conditions at the time. If you’re interested in taking part, contact Megan Jones on ext 4976 or on 07729 487413. She’ll be able to answer any questions you may have and and let you have sponsorship forms.
So what are you waiting for?
