Sponsored bench press

Sport Aston are holding a sponsored bench press for Ronald MacDonald House at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Sport Aston have organised a 12 hour sponsored bench press for Saturday 6 March in aid of Ronald MacDonald House at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital do a fantastic job providing care for children. Being in hospital can be a difficult, bewildering and often scary experience for anyone – and particularly for children. Birmingham Children’s Hospital believe that they should make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible and are working to create the very best healing environment for children, right here in Birmingham. The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at hospitals (including Birmingham Children’s Hospital), enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. Find out more about the good work that RMHC do.

Aston students and Sport Aston staff will be taking part in the 12 hour challenge, taking turns to continually bench-press from 9am-9pm on Saturday 6 March. This is a truly herculean effort and will be a challenging feat for a very worthy cause.

If you would like to sponsor the team taking part in this challenge you can donate at Woodcock Sports Centre or via our JustGiving page. If we could get every member of staff to donate just £1 then we would raise over £1000!
