Birmingham Pride 2009,  the Midlands' annual festival celebrating the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May. 

Be Birmingham will be supporting this year’s green festival theme by encouraging people to make a smoothie on a blenda bike - promoting healthy eating whilst promoting the advantages of pedal power.

The smoothie bike will be on the ‘village green’ on the corner of Bromsgrove Street and Gooch Street North from noon to 6pm throughout the weekend. The ‘green’ will also play host to children’s rides and other entertainment.
