Women from the Aston University section of Birmingham Women’s Choir opened the live stage show, which together with the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service, Armed Forces display, assault courses, food demonstrations, trench displays and living history exhibitions, entertained our Defence services and their families in Centenary Square for Armed Forces Day on Saturday 27th June.
Birmingham Women’s Choir is a loose association of choirs in Birmingham being developed by Voice Tutor and Performance Development Coach Geri Minelli, who is looking to bring together everyday women with everyday voices from all over Birmingham both for personal development and occasional performances.
The Aston University division of the Choir, holds practice sessions on Wednesday evenings and is looking for new members - so whether you would like to learn to sing for fun, relaxation or performance opportunities, come along and join us for a session. You don’t need to read music and the choir members are currently working on a range of popular songs that you will recognise.
For further information contact Geri Minelli on womenschoir@hotmail.com or tel: 0121 246 6003 or Jane Tyrrell on j.m.tyrrell@aston.ac.uk or ext 4587.
