To coincide with Go Green Week 2011 (28 February - 4 March), the University is launching the Aston University Energy Champions Network.
This network brings together people from Schools and Support Services across the University to share ideas and act as champions within their own work areas to improve the energy performance of the University. Champions can either be staff or postgraduate students who want to help raise awareness of issues such as energy saving initiatives, energy efficient equipment, best practice methods in lab areas and water conservation.
The University’s energy consumption is one of the main factors contributing to our high levels of CO2 emissions, and it will need everyone’s contribution to meet the challenge of reducing the energy that we use to successfully achieve our set targets.
To volunteer to be an Energy Champion or for further information go to our web site or please contact the Energy Manager, Andrew Bryers. If you want to discuss being a champion or general energy matters Andrew will be at a stand in the main reception on Turn off Tuesday, 1 March.
