One of the key findings of the internal communications survey, which the Marketing Department ran last year, was that colleagues feel that there are currently too many all staff emails.
Moving Aspects online allows us to address this issue by posting notices and advertisements on the website, rather than distributing them by email. To ensure that all colleagues are made aware of updates, we will send two all staff emails per week which will list all new stories and notices – this will represent a significant reduction on the current number sent. There will be then be links through to the relevant Aspects webpages to find out more. We will continue to send Senior Management Communications bulletins and any emergency or security messages, but wherever possible we will use Aspects rather than email.
We are also trialling the use of Aspects as a place to post advertisements, eg rooms for rent, items for sale etc. If you have any, get in touch!
We are aware that some staff do not have access to PCs. We remain committed to ensuring that all colleagues are informed about what is happening at Aston. Over the next few weeks we will be developing a range of ways in which these colleagues can be best informed of these news items. If you have staff working for you who don’t have computer access, please make sure that you disseminate information to them.
Please note that anyone wishing to send a message to all staff should now contact Louise Russell, Communications Officer, on ext 4637 or at firstname.lastname@example.org – NOT the Chief Operating Officer’s Department. Messages will then be posted as a notice or advertisement on the Aspects website.
