Would you like to help primary school children improve their reading skills?
Volunteer Reading Help is a charity that trains people with a love of reading to go into schools and work with children aged 6-11 on an individual basis to support them to read, gain confidence and self-esteem. This opportunity is potentially very rewarding as you’ll follow the progress of two children throughout the school year. All training, CRB check and travel expenses will be covered.
This volunteering opportunity is part of the Staff Volunteering Scheme which entitles staff, with line manager’s approval, to the equivalent of two days paid volunteering leave and will match your commitment in annual leave for up to two additional days. You may find it possible to use flexitime to fit this volunteer opportunity around work commitments.
If you are interested in registering for the scheme or would like further information please contact Chantal De-Silva, Staff Volunteering Coordinator on ext 4604.
