The England Women’s Football Team held their pre-World Cup Qualification training at the Outdoor Recreation Centre last week.
In their bid to reach the 2011 World Cup Finals in Germany, the England Women’s Football team spent two days out at the Outdoor Recreation Centre training ahead of their qualifying match against Switzerland at Shrewsbury FC.
Graeme Bowerbank, Operations manager, chose the Recreation Centre because he had heard of the excellent quality of the pitches and the training obviously paid off as England put in a strong performance to beat the Swiss 2-0!
The reputation for the quality of the Outdoor Recreation Centre pitches has spread far and wide and this summer, with the Centre hosting a number of important tournaments and events including the Over 45’s World Cup, the Khalsa National Asian Football Tournament and the International Gaelic Football tournament.
Aspects wishes the team lots of luck for their second leg tie against Switzerland at Wohlen on Thursday.
