Parents' Higher Education Advice Evening
Wednesday 12th June 2013
Aston University is pleased to confirm that we will be holding our annual Parents’ Higher Education Advice Evening on Wednesday 12th June 2013.
We are conscious that knowledge and awareness of Higher Education issues such as admissions and finance are important, not only for those applying to University but also to their parents and family, particularly if they have little or no experience of Higher Education themselves.
With this in mind, we have put together an evening for parents on the Aston University campus, covering general HE issues to complement the already extensive support and advice given to parents by schools and colleges.
The topics covered during the evening will be general and informal and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and find out more about Higher Education.
A brief programme is outlined below:
5.00 – 5.45pm Optional Session – Tour of the Aston University Campus
5.30 – 6.10pm Registration and evening buffet
6.15pm Welcome & Introduction
· The benefits of HE - Employment opportunities after graduation;

· How your son/daughter applies to University – making the most of their application;
· Student Finance at University/College – what support is available, funding, budgeting etc
