Aston Welcome is your two week induction and enrolment programme

Below is a quick outline of the key dates (please note that both weeks are compulsory). You can also check out what's on during Aston Welcome to see what events and activities you can take part in.  

Week One: International Orientation Week 

For new international, and new European Union (EU), students.

Saturday 21st – Monday 23rd September
International Meet and Greet

There is a free Meet and Greet service for new international and EU students who can be collected from Birmingham airport and taken directly to campus.

Monday 23rd– Friday 27th September
International Orientation Week

International Orientation introduces international and EU students to life in the UK and Aston University.  Whilst the formal welcome to Aston takes place on Friday 27th September, you may be required to enrol on your course as early as Monday 17th September and activities start on Monday 17th so it is best to try and arrive for that date. The University expects you to take part in International Orientation.

Week Two: Freshers Week

All the UK students will arrive joining International and EU students and everyone takes part in Freshers' Week.

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September
Moving In Weekend

You can choose to arrive on either day and you will be greeted by our Aston Aunties and Residence staff who will help to get you settled.  Check out our moving in and settling in guide - including advice on what to bring and what not to bring! For directions to the University please click here

Monday 30th September - Sunday 6th October: 
Freshers Week

Freshers' Week is compulsory for all new students. It includes a formal welcome to the University from the Vice-Chancellor and the President of the Students' Union, enrolment sessions and induction/information sessions organised by the University and your School of Study.

There will also be plenty of activities, tours, events and nights out organised by the Aston Students' Union - more details soon!
